Share your Kolibri channels in the Community Library!

Dear Kolibri community,

As you know, until now, channels that have been created by the community with open licensing could be shared by using the channel tokens with a word of mouth distribution system (or by posting here, in the Community Forum).

I am excited to share that Learning Equality has just launched a new Community Library to make these channels more easily discoverable by implementers. We would love to invite you to submit your openly licensed channel(s) to be among the first included.

How it works: When you navigate to your channel on Kolibri Studio, you will now see a “Submit to community library” option within the Share button. Submitted channels will be reviewed by Learning Equality staff, and we will follow up once the review is complete. Approved channels will appear in the new Community Library tab on Studio, where users can copy the associated token to import it into Kolibri.

Example from the Community Library submission window

Note: During this initial release, channels will be discoverable on Kolibri Studio only. In the future, they will also appear directly within Kolibri during the content import workflow.

Criteria: In the submission window, you will see a set of general guidelines. Before submitting, we recommend doing a quick review of your channel for completeness and metadata. More accurate metadata helps ensure your resources are easier for others to find.

If you have any questions or feedback, we would love to hear from you.
