I am new to Kolibri. I am working on creating a training course for our employees to learn more about a software we have implemented. I haven’t found a way to import video links from other sources, but do see that we can use .mp4 files. I have downloaded several YouTube videos and wanted to find out if this is something we need permission in order to use.
Keep in mind that the standard YouTube license does not allow to download and distribute content without the explicit permission by the video copyright holder.
You should only import resources that you’ve created and have the license for, or if the resources creator (copyright holder) explicitly granted you redistribution permissions for your Kolibri implementation.
Yes, when you upload the video that you were granted the right to use in Kolibri, you should use the Special permissions field in the Source section. Fill in the Copyright holder field, and copy the details about the agreement you’ve had with them in the License description field. It could be something simple like Permission granted for use in Kolibri, or any other statement they require you to put.
