I need more advice or a solution on uploading a strand for my module on Kolibri Studio. Currently, it’s only limited to 210 mbs and I got some that are almost 420 mbs. This cannot be reduced further due to its interactive case with the students.
Yes, its possible to upgrade the limit. Please, navigate to https://studio.learningequality.org/en/settings/#/storage, and click on the ‘Open form’ link under ‘Request more space’. There you can fill the request to get a bigger file size limit.
Thanks for reaching out to me. The Kolibri studio storage was successful increased but unfortunately, per file settings is that you cannot upload a file that is more than 210 mb.
Hello Maina;
We have checked the issue raised by you. After extensive discussions with the content and curation team, it will not be possible to reduce this further. Splitting the file means that the learning outcome will not be achieved since the lesson/topic unit is aligned to the curriculum as recommended by KICD, a government agency. I would suggest if possible from the server configuration increase limits allow the interactive digital content successfully upload and play.
Warm Regards
Julius
From the above mail, some of the files sent to me were more than 210 mbs but less 500 mbs. My question was if it was possible to increase file upload size.
Hello Alex,
The attached file is one of the samples IvI am trying to add to Kolibri Studio. However, there is a limitation of adding up to 210 MBS only. Please help me upload it.
Upon reviewing the zip file, we noticed that it contains a 4-minute video with a size of 353.7 MB. This is quite large for a video of this duration, indicating that it has not been optimized effectively. We recommend referring to our video compression guide for instructions on compressing and optimizing video files.
For example, using the methods outlined in the guide, we were able to compress this 4-minute video to approximately 34 MB for 720p resolution or 72 MB for 1080p resolution, with no appreciable loss in video quality. These sizes represent about 10% of the original video file size. As a result, the entire zip file could be reduced to approximately 78 MB, which is about 20% of its original size and well within the 210 MB per file limit for Studio uploads.
We hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any further questions.
