How many users can you login offline within Kolibri Android?

We received the following question over email and I am sharing the question and response here for transparency:

How many users can you login offline within Kolibri Android? For example, if I had a Samsung A9+ Tablet, it synced with a Content Server. Now it’s sent to a rural river camp for 4 weeks before syncing again. How many learner accounts can login offline? I believe the tablet has about 70gbs free, with 18gbs of channel resources assigned to learners who are in different classes hypothetically speaking.

A: Kolibri doesn’t impose a fixed limit on the number of learner accounts that can log in offline. The number is entirely dependent on the available storage and how much space is utilized for learner data and content. Based on the information shared, with approximately 70 GB of free storage and 18 GB allocated for channel resources, the remaining space (52 GB) should comfortably allow you to log-in with as many learner accounts as needed for the tablet’s use. Each account requires minimal storage for metadata and logs, so the tablet should handle multiple accounts effectively.

Also note that when you sync back with the Content Server, new assigned lessons and their related resources will automatically sync onto the tablet as well. So we recommend monitoring the storage space regularly to see how much is being used and that can help you make decisions in case there is limited storage. Resources can also be removed when they are no longer needed.
