Description of problem:
Hi Learning Equality team, I’m having some challenges with Kolibri Studio. When I open up some of my channels, all the content in the channel displays a copying icon on the side which never disappears. I am unable to move, edit or delete the content in these channels. I have not edited or published these channels for several months, so I assume it could be due to some upgrades and patches that were applied to Studio. It appears that the source channel for most of the content I have been sourcing - Khan Academy English (ID: 1ceff53605e55bef987d88e0908658c5) does not exist anymore. Could this be the cause of the error?
Kindly look at the screenshot below:

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards

Hi @kapsak,

Kolibri Studio is a complex web application that synchronizes changes to channel content and structure from your browser, to the Studio servers. If the synchronization does not successfully complete, then those changes could be lost. From looking at the channel changes on Studio’s servers, it would seem the copy operations never synced successfully.

In order to clear the content that is stuck copying indefinitely, I suggest signing out of Studio and back in. Unfortunately, you’ll have to re-copy the resources if you intended that.

I can also assure you that the Khan Academy English channel (ID: 1ceff53605e55bef987d88e0908658c5) does still exist. May I ask where you noticed and believed it was missing? Are you using the ‘Import from channels’ feature and searching for content?

Regards,
Blaine

Correction: my apologies, you are correct that particular channel is no longer available. The reason for that is because it has been replaced by two new channels: Khan Academy (English - US Curriculum) and Khan Academy (English - CBSE India curriculum).

Hi Blaine,
Thank you for your prompt response. I have about 24 channels which are sourcing content from the old Khan academy channel and it may be tedious to retrieve all of the content items to recreate the channels using the new Khan Academy channels.
Is there no other solution to avoid the recreation process?
I understand that the content IDs may remain the same even when a content node has moved between channels.
Any assistance would be appreciated

Kapya

Hi @kapsak,

I’ve added you as a Viewer to the former Khan Academy channel. Please let us know if you didn’t get an invitation or if you run into any issues.

Thank you for reaching out. Your feedback has helped us realize we have a use case to maintain access in this type of situation.

Thank you Blaine, that helps a lot.
Could you kindly add our other accounts as viewers of the former Khan Academy channel

Thank you once again for your support. I will work on recreating all of our channels with the current Khan academy content.
Best regards,
Kapya

Hi @kapsak,

I’ve now invited all of those accounts. I will now edit your post to remove the addresses, being a public forum.

Glad this helps!
